TYSONS, VIRGINIA, April 1, 2025 – In partnership with Elderly Housing Development and Operations Corporation (“EHDOC”), a non-profit organization dedicated to the development, preservation, and management of quality affordable housing, SCG Development is pleased to announce the completion of a substantial renovation of EHDOC’s flagship properties, Council Towers North and South, located in the City of Miami Beach, Florida.
Originally constructed in 1976, these two identical twelve-story senior housing properties consist of 250 one-bedroom apartments averaging 577 sf. and have been owned and operated by EHDOC since 1983. All 250 units received new kitchens with energy-star rated appliances, new bathrooms, decorative laminate flooring, designer lighting, paint, new VRF central AC system with independently controlled thermostats, hurricane impact windows and sliders, window treatments, elevator modernization, and upgrades of offices and common areas and amenities. The renovation of this development was designed by The Hecky Group, and renovated by NEI General Contracting, and is operated by EHDOC.
