SCG Development Celebrates Groundbreaking at The Nest in Ashburn, Virginia

On September 17, 2026, SCG Development, along with several Loudoun County elected officials and other affordable housing community leaders gathered for the groundbreaking of The Nest (formerly known as Commonwealth Lofts) at a celebration held at Silver Diner in Ashburn, Virginia
In attendance to usher in SCG’s first Loudoun County development were Loudoun County Representatives Sylvia Glass (Rep. Broad Run District), Mike Turner (Vice-Chair Ashburn District), and representatives for Koran Saines (Sterling District) and Juli Briskman (Algonkian District). Each spoke about the value and impact of developing affordable housing in Loudoun County. Eric Keeler (Director, Loudoun County Department of Housing and Community Development) and Ed Trageser (Virginia Housing) also shared their thoughts and insights into the housing crisis and the importance of continued development to provide quality apartment homes for people who work and would like to live in Loudoun County. Other participants included CBG Building Company (general contractor), Davis Carter Scott (architectural services), Gordon (civil engineering services), and Paradigm Property Management.
The Property will consist of one, two, and three-bedroom apartment homes that will be rented to families earning no more than 30%, 40%, 50%, and 60% of area median income. Future residents will enjoy the outstanding location and benefit from a short 5-minute walk to One Loudoun where there are a variety of retail establishments, restaurants and amenities such as: Trader Joe’s, CVS Pharmacy, Silver Diner, Popeyes, Alamo Drafthouse Cinema and The Fitness Equation gym. A bus stop will be constructed adjacent to The Nest, allowing the residents convenient connectivity to the rest of Loudoun County and beyond.
The completion of the development is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2027.
